Institute Profile

Ecuador In 2012, the National Institute of Public Health Research (INSPI) was created through Presidential Decree No. 1290, which signified its division from the former National Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. INSPI is Ecuador's center for human health research and innovation in science and technology. It also coordinates the national network of public health reference laboratories.

The mission of INSPI is to generate, transfer, and disseminate scientific and technological knowledge in public health, develop and manage technological innovation, direct the national reference of laboratories, and obtain evidence that contributes to strengthening public health policies.
