On February 11th, Zambian Minister of Health Dr. Joseph Kasode announced Zambia’s commitment to the launch of a National Public Health Institute (NPHI). Through the support and partnership of the U.S. CDCZambia's NPHI, currently still a virtual entity, will be a national-level unit that provides leadership and coordination for public health and will strengthen critical public health functions including disease detection and response. The Zambia NPHI is supported by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the U.S. CDC, in partnership with IANPHI.
