IANPHI Statement on the World Health Organization
International collaboration is vital during public health emergencies. The World Health Organization (WHO) has played a crucial role in protecting the world’s population since 1948. It identifies, addresses and eliminates threats to health around the globe, and brings together the world’s top scientists to address major health issues.
The International Association of National Public Health Institutes (IANPHI) has worked closely with WHO since our founding in 2006. We highly value their collective knowledge and experience in preventing and controlling disease throughout the world. To save lives and overcome this vicious COVID-19 pandemic, we need to have a fully engaged, active and focused WHO.
