Members
IANPHI has 110 members in 95 countries as of December 2020, benefiting more than 5 billion people.
Our members are national public health institutes (NPHIs), which focus on the major public health problems affecting their country. They use scientific evidence as the basis of policy implementation and resource allocation and are accountable to national governments and the public.
NPHIs key functions include disease surveillance, detection, and monitoring; outbreak investigation and control; health information analysis for policy development; research; workforce development; health promotion and health education; and laboratory science. Many of these functions are particularly critical in low-resource nations.
IANPHI encourages the establishment of regional networks with the aim to develop regional collaboration, to facilitate the provision of mutual support and technical assistance and to strengthen each other capacities. IANPHI has four regional networks: Africa; Asia; Europe; and Latin America and the Caribbean.
